Suicide Squad (2016)It's complicated for me to talk about why I'm so attached to Suicide Squad. As a film, it is a case study in how editing can affect the story, why it's important to flesh out characters meant to be part of an ensemble, and how none of us are sure what was going on with the Joker. That being said, Suicide Squad came out right after I had finished my Harley Quinn/Frozen crossover and my Harley Quinn craze in full swing. This was also right at the beginning of my life-imitates-art-imitates-life sequence where Harley breaks up with the Joker, redefines herself to break free of him, and later moves into an apartment with Poison Ivy. TL;DR I didn't want to look at Harley Quinn and the Joker and think of of my ex, so I latched myself onto Suicide Squad to take a short break from the animated series while I built a better relationship with Harley Quinn.
